ATS keyword examples (mirror the JD without lying)

Applicant tracking systems are dumb-but-strict. They look for phrases from the job description. If your resume says the same thing in different words, you can still get filtered out.

JD wants: cross-functional collaboration with product and design

Weak: Worked with other teams on features.

Stronger: Partnered cross-functionally with product and design to ship X, cutting Y by Z%.

JD wants: Python APIs and PostgreSQL

Weak: Built backend services in a modern stack.

Stronger: Built Python APIs on PostgreSQL serving N req/s with p95 under T ms.

Rules that keep you honest

Only add keywords for skills you actually used.
Prefer the JD's exact noun phrases when true.
Put high-value keywords in the top third of the resume.
Do not keyword-stuff a skills dump with no proof bullets.
